Hello Everyone,
As we get closer to the BKL FoxTrot on Feb 14th, here are a few critical items:
- Volunteers! We are getting to the point where we really need to fill our roster. If you have already committed to volunteer for the BKL or Eastern Cup race, thank you very much. If not, we really need the help. For example, if we don’t find a raffle chief this week, there will be no raffle! We also need Parking attendants, Registration folks and Food/Bev assistants. Many jobs require only 2 hours of your day. See some specific examples below. Even if your children are not racing, this is your time to give back! Please email me, Lou Bregou, at lou
@flume.net and let me know that you can and will help! - Parking Attendant: 8am -10amParking Attendant: 10am – NoonFood Table: set up/serving 9am -11amFood Table: serving 11am – 1:00pm
Raffle Meister: Limited work on day of event, mostly prep work. (Kids LOVE the raffle! We need YOU!)
- Items. There will be messages from our volunteer leaders asking to bring food etc. in the near term. Keep an eye out. Also, we can’t have enough tables, tents, water jugs, inflatable jumpy houses, etc. so if you have a useful item, email me.
- Register to Race ASAP: https://www.skireg.com/silver-fox-trot. It would be great to have as many BKLers and their parents (there’s a low-key citizen’s race too!) participate in the race at our home event and primary fund raiser. The kids really love to see their parents giving it a shot (just like we ask them to do). We had a blast last year, and this year is going to be even better: The more pre-reg signups we have, the easier it is to plan. Plus, the public can see how many folks have already signed up online. The more of us that sign up early, the more it becomes a popular race and others also sign up.
See you soon,
Lou Bregou

- Race Organization for Mt Top Paintball Biathlon 2-1-15 January 29, 2015
To All Who Choose to Participate in the Wonderful Event that is the Paintball Biathlon:
We are psyched and hope you are, too! Please help us prepare for our coaching duties by adding your child’s name to the google doc here. Our race organization documents let skiers and parents know ahead of time when their grade level group will be meeting to preview the course and, in this case, practice shooting! We are also hoping skiers will remember that it is important to take a slow ski after they race. If possible on Sunday, coaches will use the cool down with kids to preview the course kids will race if they ski in the BKL Festival (taking place at Mt Top) at the end of the season.
Should be fun! Please make sure your child’s skis are fully prepared according to Jay’s instructions BEFORE you arrive at the race (check them again on the race org. doc. the evening before the race). We will not have waxing equipment on site.
Looking forward to it!
Ashley and Peter
