Ford Sayre Skimo Program
Love adventure? A good uphill workout? Skiing fast downhill? Trying new things? Join Ford Sayre’s Ski Mountaineering program!
Ski mountaineering (aka “Skimo”) will debut as a new Olympic sport in 2026. It involves skinning uphill, “bootpacking” up steep inclines, and racing back down.
The Ford Sayre program is designed for those simply looking for recreation and those interested in racing. The primary goal is to develop both the skills and passion for the sport while building a sense of community. In doing so, we hope to foster a lifelong love for ski mountaineering.

About Josie and Ed
Josie Fisher and Ed Warren are originally from Norwich and Lebanon, respectively, and recently moved back to the Upper Valley with their 1-year old son, Teddy. Josie is a doctor at DHMC and Ed is an entrepreneur – and their favorite hobby is skimo! Ed has been ski-mountaineering since he first went to Tuckerman Ravine at age 12. In 2013, he set the ski mountaineering speed record on Denali. He now runs Uphill New England, a local uphilling non-profit. Josie discovered the sport of skimo only a few years ago, but quickly fell in love with it, making the US National Team in her second year of racing. Their favorite event was a partner-race they did together at the Aspen Power of Four. Now that they have a son, they have slowed down a bit (a lot) but look forward to sharing their love for the sport with the next generation!
