All Ford Sayre coaches must hold a valid U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) membership. To obtain your membership and complete its requirements, please follow these steps.
A valid U.S. Ski & Snowboard (USSA) membership is required before attending in-person practices. Complete all applicable requirements below.
1. Obtain or renew your USSA membership
- Select the VOLUNTEER-level membership ($68), unless your program instructs you otherwise.
- DO NOT obtain a COACH membership unless you have been asked to do so or received prior approval from your head coach or program head. A COACH membership is required only for coaches attending certain USSA races/events and involves additional training and fees.
- If you normally hold a COACH or OFFICIAL membership, note that late fees begin October 16.
- Obtain (or renew) your USSA membership
- Step-by-step membership instructions, including screenshots.
2. Complete SafeSport training
- One SafeSport module is required each season.
- After obtaining your USSA membership, access the required training through your USSA dashboard.
- The required course may be the core training or a refresher, depending on your prior training.
- Allow approximately 20–90 minutes.
- Detailed SafeSport instructions
- SafeSport FAQs
3. Complete a background check, if due
- Required every two years. USSA will notify you, with a link at the top of your account page, when one is due.
- Do not initiate a background check unless USSA prompts you to do so.
- Register through the NCSI link provided by USSA.
- The process requires a computer or device that can upload a photo of your driver’s license or passport. File size must be less than 4MB.
- There is no additional fee when you use USSA applicant code 11392848.
- Allow approximately 15 minutes.
- Detailed background check instructions.
4. Request Reimbursement
Once all membership requirements are complete, forward your USSA transaction receipt (received via email) and preferred mailing address:
- Alpine: send to Kate.Anderson@fordsayre.org
- Nordic: use this reimbursement request form
- Jumping and Skimo: send directly to bookkeeper@fordsayre.org; please indicate your program
* All Alpine designated memberships will be assessed for NH Alpine Racing Association (NHARA) dues, which will be reimbursed.
