Ski Jumping, Biathlon, and XC Ski Games
New This Summer
- Ford Sayre’s BKL Nordic, Jumping and Biathlon Games continue this summer.
- For Girls and Boys entering 3rd-8th grade (attending adults are encouraged to join in)
- An hour-long workout for kids interested in learning more about ski jumping, biathlon and cross-country skiing - without the slippery snow!
- Each evening includes Cross-country and either Jumping or Biathlon instruction.
- Jumping and Biathlon will alternate weeks. Don’t do one? Don’t skip a week of fun - try the other!
- Coaches include former and future Olympic ski jumpers, nordic combiners, biathletes and cross-country skiers
- Tuesday evenings, 5:30 to 6:30 pm, June 29-August 17th (8 weeks)
- $40 for Ford Sayre members, $50* for non-Ford Sayre members for 8 evenings, pre-registered
$8 for Ford Sayre members, $18* for non-Ford Sayre members per evening, day of registration
*covers insurance
- Location: Oak Hill stadium and trails, Storrs Pond, Hanover, NH
Coaching Staff
Summer Director and Cross-country ski coach: Dorcas Wonsavage
Biathlon coaches: Dan Haedrich, Dennis Donaghue, Anna Sonnerup
Jumping coaches: Tom Dodds, Mike Holland, and local current and former National team, junior and collegiate nordic athletes
PRE-REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED.
A minimum of 10 participants must be pre-registered by June 15, 2010 in order to hold each evening session. Registration and Release forms can be downloaded here or can be found at Hanover, Lebanon, and Norwich Recreation Departments. They must be received by June 15, 2010.
Day of Registration is available, 5:15 to 5:30 pm at the tent at the base of Oak Hill stadium
Participants are responsible for:
- Appropriate workout clothing for the weather
- Water bottle and post-workout snack
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and/or hat
- Post-workout clothing - dry shirt, socks, swimsuit/towel

Jan 28 - Skate practice at Bragg Hill in Norwich |

The trails are closed at Oak Hill and at Garipay so we will not hold practice at either venue on Thursday, January 28. We have been offered the use of a small ski loop at the Norwich home of Doug and Janet Hardy at the corner of Bragg Hill Rd and Tucker Hill Rd. Doug has groomed a 0.5 km ski loop which we have used in previous season's when the snow is scarce in Hanover. Thanks to their higher elevation and northern exposure they have snow when no one else does!
The plan is to hold a skating practice there from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. We understand that this is not an ideal situation for many in the
program so this is an optional practice for those who can make it! |

Due to nasty, awful, horrible no good nasty weather, ski practice has been cancelled for Ford Sayre Nordic Racing Tuesday 1/26. Stay tuned for an update for Thursday's practice. |

 Lots of BKL skiers braved the frigid temperatures and showed up for the 26th annual Bogburn classic race in Pomfret on Saturday, January 9th.
