The Silver Fox Trot cross country ski race is held annually in Hanover as a tribute to the late Al Merrill (aka 'Silver Fox') and his nearly 30 years associated with Dartmouth skiing. Nordic skiers from all over New England look forward to this race each year.

The 2010 race was held under challenging conditions at an alternative venue, but with 155 kids participating in spring-like conditions it was a huge success.
